Sonshi and Members:

I am impressed by the quality of much of the content on Sonshi.com, especially the moderation by the administrator.

I am curious as to what/who drives this web site. The operation does not seem to have a commercial motive (at least not as far as I could determine). Would it be possible to (strategically, of course :)) inform us a little about the creators of the site and their long-term direction?

While there is a true richness of ideas from various philosophers and strategists, I did not see any material from Miyomoto Musashi. Is that just a result of the subset of material I happened to come across or are there other reasons?

Again, congratulations on a gem of web site. Very informative and stimulating.

You are "Welcome," and thank you.

Sonshi has such a commanding presence at sonshi.com, precisely because of Sonshi's non-presence, if that makes any sense.

Regarding your question about, "What/who drives this website?" my sense is that it is driven by The Way, by Sun Tzu's teachings, and by the sonshi.com community located throughout the world.

I want to suggest that you read some of the older threads. You will find snippets of conversations in which Musashi is brought up. I, among some others at sonshi.com, are familiar with Miyamoto Musashi's "Book of Five Rings." But that does not mean that we find it necessary to quote him at length. But you should always feel free to do so to emphasize a point or enhance your ki.

My perspective is that if one reads some threads very carefully, one will "see" that Musashi's ideas are sometimes seamlessly woven into the fabric of some posts.

So, Musashi, much like Sonshi, is present among us without actually being "present."

Take care.

Isn't this why the Internet and the World Wide Web were created? All the hyperbole of the first dot com era was a mere backdrop compared to the world community coming together to share ideas and knowledge.

Our intention with Sonshi.com is to provide a viable resource for those who are interested in Sun Tzu the Art of War. It has helped us, and it'll help others as well. As for the what and who behind Sonshi.com, we leave you with this statement from Confucius after having met Lao Tzu:

"I know a bird can fly, a fish can swim, and an animal can run. For that which runs a net can be made; for that which swims a line can be made; for that which flies an arrow can be made. But the dragon's ascent into heaven on the wind and the clouds is something which is beyond my knowledge. It is ungraspable, unfathomable. Is not Lao Tzu like the dragon?"

1st to Sonshi thank you 4 reviewing my site (HERE (http://www.hyenasoftware.myweb.nl)) and the 2nd opinion on it. I'll take in account the views on it. ThnX.

As for my comment here....

Nobody gets burned here UV... But if they do it makes true interesting conversation none the less. Your keyboard is your weapon in a discussion. Use it for defence but also for offence... Make a :) or make a big :D sometimes. Some opinions make you  . But be on top, and be  and respond with a ;)
