Unification is most important during warfare. An army which is divided cannot experience its full strength. Only an army that is one, and in accord with each other, can do that. Thus, every one of the army, small units to big ones, high ranks to low ranks, strong or weak, they must be in accord with each other in order to be commanded and win.

Being of one mind when one goes into battle or into an important meeting, ensures that the team collectively strives towards achieving the same goal.

Moreover, possessing a unity of mind and effort breeds self-confidence among the troops and this enobles them to take calculated risks knowing that they are doing so for the benefit of their team.

When the upper and lower ranks are united in mind and spirit, their esprit de corps is higher and their spirit or ki', is far stronger.

Good organizations can have the unit producing workers and managers on the same page. When goals are collectively shared progress is possible. Victory of the group is dependant upon victory of the individual over desires pertinant to his or her individual needs.

The leader needs to share its vision to the troups. When everybody feel involve towards a common goal, their action and reaction will be synchronous. Like ants working not for themselves but for a common cause. It reminds me this SEAL saying "There is no 'I' in TEAM".

The officers and men must have the same goals, they must work together to attain that goal. If one group has an agenda that does not work in conjunction with the other and they do not have a common goal. Failure will be the only outcome. Blame will be the only result.
